The Cincinnati Men’s Chorus is proud to announce the selection and hiring of our new Artistic Director, Steve Milloy. The CMC held a year-long search for a full-time Artistic Director and having successfully completed the process, the CMC Board of Directors has extended Milloy an invitation to formally join the organization at the artistic and creative helm for the start of our 27th season.
Milloy steps into the role having served as a guest director throughout Season 26 for the small ensemble, Männerchor, and as guest director for the full chorus’ June concert, “Pride,” serving as the kick-off to Cincinnati Pride Week. Since 2001, Milloy has worked with the CMC as an arranger, guest conductor, singer and at one time serving as an Assistant Director. Well known in the Gay And Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA) as an arranger for men’s and women’s choruses across the world, Milloy brings to the CMC a long standing history of vocal directing, coaching, composing, accompanying and conducting in addition to his LGBTQ and social justice experience in Cincinnati directing the Martin Luther King Coalition Chorale and Diverse City Youth Chorus.
“I am excited and proud to be a part of the CMC in these challenging times. Our mission is clear: Through our music, we strive for excellence; support and nurture our members; entertain our audiences; and work for justice, inclusion and harmony between the gay community and the community at large. Let’s unite our heads, hands and hearts toward this goal of a healthier, happier society.”
Milloy holds a Master of Music degree from UC’s Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM).
