Steve Milloy, Artistic Director

Artistic director of the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus, Steve Milloy (b. 1965) has spent over three decades coaching and directing singers in schools, churches, theaters, and concert stages across the midwestern United States. He has performed in many venues: theme parks, entertaining troops overseas, TV and radio, and singing with the acclaimed a cappella octet, Pieces of 8. The is also music director at St. John United Church of Christ in Bellevue, KY.

Steve has been commissioned to compose or arrange pieces for dozens of church & community choruses in the US and UK. He has worked at the keyboard and/or on the podium with choruses and theater troupes in St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati and was a guest conductor for the GALA Choruses Festival opening concert in 2016.

With Dr. Charles Beale, he co-authored the books Popular Voiceworks 1 and 2 for Oxford University Press and is currently working on a Christmas edition to be released in the summer of 2019. His original choral work, Bayard Rustin: The Man Behind the Dream premiered in January of 2017 and will be performed by several GALA choruses across the United States.

Steve received a BA in Music from Miami University and a MM in conducting from the University of Cincinnati/College-Conservatory of Music.

Spencer Zembrodt, Principal Accompanist

Spencer Zembrodt is a conductor, pianist, percussionist, composer, and teacher. In addition to accompanying the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus, he frequently performs in the Greater Cincinnati area with orchestras, theatre companies, churches, and other arts organizations. He was Assistant Conductor for the Shippensburg Symphony Festival, where he worked with several internationally recognized artists. His compositions have been played by professional and student ensembles; and have been recorded, including an upcoming digital release of a collaboration with tenor Leo Williams. He is represented by Washington Street Publishing. Spencer holds a M.M. in orchestral conducting and a B.M. in percussion performance, with additional studies in piano, composition, and music education.
